We are an all-volunteer hiking group based in the metro Vancouver area of BC.

We organize hikes, bike trips, snowshoeing and skiing on a weekly basis. And, every summer, we offer a one week camp with a variety of hikes from easy rambles to challenging scrambles. This year we based our one week camp in Yoho National Park. Most of us stayed at the Whiskey Jack Hostel across from Takakkaw Falls.

"Whiskey Jack Hostel originated in 1922 as a CPR bungalow camp called Yoho Valley Lodge. The open avalanche slope was chosen because it was close to water and offered a view of Takakkaw Falls. However, the builders did not recognize the avalanche hazard. The lodge was damagedby an avalanche in the winter of 1937-38. The surviving buildings were relocated to the south, but not far enough to be out of harm's way. In 1967 another avalanche destroyed the vacant main lodge building. The surviving outbuildings became a hostel in 1969." Source: Classic Hikes in the Canadian Rockies, p. 205
